Bencharki tops assist charts as Moroccan duo shine in Egypt

Moroccan internationals Achraf Bencharki and Mohamed Chibi capped off impressive campaigns in the Egyptian Premier League by finishing among the competition’s leading assist providers during the 2025/26 season.

The two Atlas Lions stars played crucial roles for their respective clubs, consistently influencing matches in the final third and showcasing the creativity that has made them key figures in Egyptian football.

Bencharki enjoyed an outstanding season with Al Ahly, finishing as the league’s top assist provider with seven assists. The Moroccan forward quickly became a central figure in Al Ahly’s attack, using his vision, technical quality and experience to create opportunities for teammates throughout the campaign.

His creative contributions proved vital to Al Ahly’s success, further strengthening his status as one of the Egyptian Premier League’s most influential foreign players.

Chibi also delivered another strong season for Pyramids FC, ending the campaign with six assists. Despite playing as a defender, the Moroccan international continued to demonstrate his attacking qualities, regularly joining forward moves and providing dangerous deliveries from wide areas.

His ability to contribute at both ends of the pitch has become one of the defining features of Pyramids’ style of play, with Chibi once again establishing himself among the league’s most productive full-backs.

The assist standings also included several high-profile names on six assists, including Ahmed Sayed Zizo, Fakhri Lakay, Juan Bezerra and Mahmoud Saber.

However, it was the Moroccan pair who stood out, with Bencharki finishing at the top of the rankings and Chibi once again proving his value as one of the league’s most effective attacking defenders.

Their performances underline the growing influence of Moroccan footballers across the Arab world, where they continue to thrive in some of the region’s most competitive leagues.

As the curtain falls on the 2025/26 season, both Bencharki and Chibi can look back on campaigns marked by consistency, creativity and decisive contributions, reinforcing their importance for both club and country heading into the new season.
