Arsenal have abandoned plans to redevelop Emirates Stadium and significantly increase its current capacity of 60,000.
A working group had been examining the project since 2024, but the club has now decided to focus on targeted improvements instead.
The revised approach will involve upgrading and extending selected areas of the stadium, while also improving facilities and matchday conditions for supporters.
The main reason for ending the redevelopment proposal was the need to move Arsenal’s home fixtures to another ground while construction work was under way, The Athletic reports.
Emirates Stadium opened in 2006. Before moving there, Arsenal played their home matches at the 35,000-capacity Highbury.
