Al Ahly SC have reportedly started initial negotiations to sign Enppi striker Aktai Abdullah as the club intensifies preparations for next season’s squad rebuild.
According to a source speaking to Yalla Kora, Al Ahly’s management has already opened the first round of discussions with Enppi regarding a possible transfer during the upcoming summer window.
The report stated that the Cairo club has begun evaluating several transfer options ahead of the new campaign, with Aktai Abdullah emerging as one of the priority targets following his performances for Enppi this season.
The source added that Al Ahly officials had also explored the player’s willingness to make the move, particularly as the 22-year-old striker continues to gain recognition at national level.
Aktai has reportedly been included in the preliminary squad of the Egypt national football team ahead of preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign, further increasing interest in the forward.
The negotiations are understood to be overseen by Essam Siraj, who is expected to officially take over the role of Director of Contracts at Al Ahly in the coming days.
Although Siraj has reportedly already started handling transfer-related duties, the source explained that he has temporarily travelled to Saudi Arabia to perform the Hajj pilgrimage.
According to the same source, discussions regarding the transfer are expected to continue once Siraj returns, with Al Ahly aiming to accelerate efforts to complete the deal.
The Egyptian champions are believed to be planning early moves in the transfer market as they look to strengthen several areas of the squad before the start of the new season.
Aktai Abdullah only joined Enppi during the previous summer transfer window, but he has quickly established himself as one of the team’s important attacking players.
The young striker made 21 appearances for Enppi and contributed directly to nine goals, scoring six times and providing three assists during the campaign.
His performances have attracted growing attention within Egyptian football, particularly due to his ability to contribute both as a goalscorer and creator in the final third.
Al Ahly’s interest in the player reflects the club’s continued focus on recruiting emerging domestic talent capable of strengthening the squad for both local and continental competitions.
The club has not yet officially confirmed the negotiations, while Enppi have also remained silent regarding the reported discussions.
However, reports suggest that the coming weeks could prove decisive as Al Ahly seek to complete their summer business early and avoid prolonged negotiations ahead of pre-season preparations.
For Aktai Abdullah, a potential move to Al Ahly would represent the biggest step of his career so far, with the striker now increasingly viewed as one of the promising young attacking talents in Egyptian football.
