Adrien Tameze, the France-Cameroon defensive midfielder currently without a club, is being linked with a move to Cypriot side AEK Larnaca. The 32-year-old left Torino at the start of July and is available on a free transfer, with the Cyprus League club exploring the possibility of adding his experience to their midfield options.
Tameze’s market value was last estimated at €1.2m at the end of May, a figure that is likely to make him an accessible target for AEK Larnaca as they look for low-risk reinforcements in the closing stages of the summer. Any deal would involve only salary and bonuses, with no transfer fee required after the midfielder’s contract in Serie A came to an end on 1 July.
The Lille-born player has built a solid career in Italy and France, notably amassing 188 Serie A appearances and more than 12,000 league minutes during spells with Hellas Verona and Torino, having earlier established himself in Ligue 1 with Nice. He also has experience in European competition, including outings in both the Champions League and Europa League, adding a level of pedigree that would be rare in Cyprus.
Tameze’s path to free agency followed a permanent move from Hellas Verona to Torino in July 2023 for €2.8m, but he has been assessing his options since departing Turin this summer. For now, he remains unattached as discussions continue over a potential switch to AEK Larnaca.
